Chirp Desk
The Chirp desk was designed in collaboration with Sauder Woodworking for their "Future of Furniture" student design competition, with the intention to provide a work-from-home space for the millennial consumer that can transform to hide its contents when not in use. The large work surface has room to work with modern necessities like a laptop or tablet, and can pivot to close off the hutch similar to a traditional secretary desk. Built in storage holds smaller items like chargers and stationary. The bird-like form and bright colors accentuate a light-hearted sense to the desk, suggesting that work and play can coexist in the same space.
The design was selected by Sauder to be featured in their 2020 Highpoint Furniture Market showcase, with a full scale sample piece produced by their workshop.
